Reigning champions Mertel Motorsport, who took the overall title in the last two editions of the GT Cup Europe with Ludwig-Velasco and are the strongest Ferrari representative in the series, unveiled the first pair of its 2025 line-up which should include five cars.
The Ferrari 296 Challenge #80, sporting an antelope on its roof, will be entrusted to the Italian pair composed of Simone Patrinicola (31) and Luca Demarchi (38), who won the GT Cup Pro-Am title in the Italian GT Endurance last year.
This is the first Ferrari 296 Challenge confirmed for the 2025 season. To be eligible in the series, the latest racer of the Prancing Horse has gone through a BoP, which was successfully achieved as demonstrated in the various tests conducted and in the Winter Series last week.
Mertel Motorsport will announce the rest of its line-up shortly its other pairs shortly.
