A new Dutch team is joining the GT Cup Europe. With a brand-new entry from Burgers Motorsport by HWM, Paul Meijer and Laura van den Hengel will compete in the ProAm category with a Porsche 911 Cup (992).
Paul Meijer, a former single-seater driver who made his way up to GP2, has already proven his speed on the track and will now be mentoring Laura, who is supported by legendary Iron Dames and has been racing in the GT Cup since last year. The two have known each other since their karting days, with Paul providing guidance to Laura from the very start of her racing career. Now, they’re joining forces to compete for the title.
Laura van den Hengel: "This year is going to be a crucial one for my performance. With the support of Iron Dames, I can truly focus on racing and elevating both my approach and my career to the next level. Having Paul by my side and the backing of Burgers Motorsport by HWM gives me confidence that we’re taking the right steps forward. I'm really excited!"
Paul Meijer: "Racing alongside Laura and helping her progress in her career is a big motivation for me, but my main goal is to win the championship. With this new setup and team, I’m confident we have what it takes to go for the win."
